BabyBeats Music Camp (Ages 2-3)  ---- PENDING due to Covid-19,  Call for updates
July 13-17,  2020  (Mon - Fri  / 9 am to 11 am)  

The first step to Music appreciation and education!  This is an interactive introduction to music for the very young.  The program includes introductions to rhythms, movement and musical sounds. We strive to develop an early interest in music through games, drawing, movement and sound.

BumbleBeats Music Camp (Ages 4-5)

A joyful introduction to Music!  We’ll sing, play rudimentary instruments and move to the beat.  This is an early music education program to introduce your Pre-Schooler to music appreciation and theory within a fun, but structured, group.

Little Songsters Music Camp (Ages 6-8)
July 13-17,  2020  (Mon - Fri / 9 am to Noon) --- PENDING due to Covid-19,  Call for updates

The next step to Music appreciation and education!  We’ll sing harmonies, be introduced to standard instruments, experience more intricate rhythm patterns and prepare for private lessons. This is an early music education program designed to introduce your kindergartner to musical components, and theory within a fun, but structured, small group.  Class size is limited to five students to allow for maximum attention and control.  Little songsters graduate to either Elementary Music or private one-on-one instruction.
Cost $150.00

JayBone's Guitar Camp (Ages 8-16)  ------   CANCELLED due to Covid-19
June 1-4,  2020  (M- Th / 9 am to Noon) 

Students new to guitar will learn tuning, notes, melodies, timing, developing finger strength and practice routines. For students with guitar experience, includes chords, strumming & timing, Song structure, dexterity, intro to music theory, fret-board mapping and practice routines. Performance at end of last class.

PERFORMANCE CAMPS

 

Show Choir Boot Camp (New Members & Elementary and Middle School only)
July 2020  (9 am to Noon)  By Audition Only   ---- PENDING due to Covid-19,  Call for updates

In this high energy camp you will go into "Show Choir Boot Camp"... New Show Choir members we work on the music, harmonies and choreography for the upcoming competition in December. On the last day of camp, we will perform our rendition of the selection for an audience. You will also be invited back to perform with your the current show choirs in our annual "Night of Music" concert on August 29th. Final auditions for placement in Fanfare and Harmonics will take place thelast day of class.

THEATER CAMPS - Offered through Saltwater Performing Arts (formerly St Marys Children's Theatre, Inc.)

Broadway Dance Summer Workshop             Lisa Allen Dance Works (& Zoom)

Dates: July 6, 10, 13, 20                                             Instructor: Lisa Allen                                                      

Times: Ages 7-9 4:15-5:30 /  Ages 10+ 5:30-6:45                                    

Cost: $75 for 4 classes (or $20 per session)

Dance into the spotlight in our Broadway Dance Camp! These energetic classes will provide conditioning, as well as work technical broadway dance skills and rhythm. It’s a great way to simply have fun with dance or to start building a foundation for theatrical choreography.  Offered in person with social distancing guidelines or via Zoom. 

Craft & Creations (Elementary)                                                   Location: The Warehouse

Dates: Thursdays (4 weeks), July 2, 9, 16, 23                                 Instructor: Brandi Kessler          

Times: Grades K-2, 9-10am / Grades 3-5, 10-11

Cost: $60 for 4 classes (or $20 per session)

Have fun putting your creative side on display! Students will craft, create, and express their artistic visions with fun take home projects. Explore art concepts and a variety of mediums in this 4-class series. 

LEGO STEM Camp (Grades 5-8)               Location: The Warehouse

Dates: Thursdays (4 weeks),  July 2, 9, 16, 23        Instructor: Brandi Kessler                                                                                     

Times: 1-2pm

Cost: $60 for 4 classes (or $20 per session)

If you build it they will come! Students will use legos to build out of this world designs while solving real world problems with science, technology, engineering, and math. 

Character Songs: Musical Theatre (Middle/High)                   Location: The Warehouse

Dates: Thursdays (4 weeks), July 2, 9, 16, 23                                 Instructor: Brandi Kessler          

Times: 2-4pm

Cost: $100 for 4 classes (or $30 per session)

If you love musical theatre this is the class for you! The stage creates characters that we love, and some we love to hate!  Now you can learn to develop unforgettable characters too.  This course will include acting, singing, and movement. 

Jump In! (Elementary Acting)                                                    Location: Online via Zoom

Dates: Tuesdays (4 weeks), July 7, 14, 21, 28                              Instructor: Megan Kaufman           

Times: 5-6pm

Do you have a young actor or actress ready to take the plunge? SPA is excited to provide a summer experience for your elementary theatre lovers.  Jump In! to our 4 week class designed for beginners.  Your student will be welcomed into the world of theatre through song, movement, music, rhythm and storytelling.  

Acting Out!  (Middle/High)                                                          Location: Online via Zoom

Dates: Tuesdays (4 weeks), July 7, 14, 21, 28                              Instructor: Megan Kaufman           

Times: 6-7pm

Cost: $60 for 4 classes (or $20 per session)

Have something on the inside that you just have to get out?  Geared toward musical theatre lovers and newbies alike, this class will teach music, dance, and acting to help your student develop vital theatrical skills. We will practice character development, ensemble building, improvisation games, script analysis and story structure through monologues and scene studies. 

On the Spot Improv (Middle/High)                                Location: Online via Zoom

Dates: Wednesday(4 weeks), July 8, 15, 22, 29           Instructor: Megan Kaufman

Times: 5-6pm

Cost: $60 for 4 classes (or $20 per session)

What will happen when you are put On the Spot?  Improvised scenes and games are imaginative and fun, but stories with conflict and interactive characters are challenging too. Take your theatrical imagination and silliness to a new level as you learn to think fast while leaving your comfort zone behind! 

Young Shakespeare Playwriting (Middle/High)                      Location: Online via Zoom

Dates: Tuesdays (4 weeks), July 7, 14, 21, 28                           Instructor: Marci McCosh

Times: 11am-12noon

Cost: $60 for 4 classes                                                                                                             

To be or not to be… a playwright? Students will explore the most effective way to tell stories in dramatic form and will emerge from the four-week course with a short one-act play. Through the study of the basic elements of drama (action, character, conflict, dialogue) and a variety of examples, students will receive basic instruction on how plays are created, while at the same time focusing in detail on writing their own piece. This is a “learn by doing” class – because of the workshop nature of the class, attendance is vital and students will be expected to write on their own time.
